1. Book tickets in advance for popular spots like Doge’s Palace and St. Mark’s Basilica to skip the lines. Pre-book a gondola ride to save money, too.

2. Google Maps can be tricky in Venice because the streets are like a maze. Give yourself extra time to get from place to place.

3. Avoid touristy restaurants with photos and laminated menus. Look for places on quieter streets or try Venice’s amazing street food to save money.

4. Dress modestly when visiting churches like St. Mark’s Basilica. Cover your knees and shoulders.

A food filled weekend in Bridlington!

The Ship Inn, Sewerby - Amazing fish and chips and such a lovely pub to finish off our first day.

@rubysoho_coffee started off here for breakfast and had their poached eggs on toast. I have to say I am tempted to return for their impossible pancake challenge 😁

@manchotrestaurant When we saw that this place served Sunday lunch tapas we had to try it! The restaurant, the food, the atmosphere, everything here was amazing and we will definitely be returning.

It’s been a very busy couple of months! Between our wedding, holidays and a new job we have neglected this account. 😔
Determined to get back into it, we thought it best to start with a post of food highlights from our recent trip to New York which never disappoints! We were able eat at some of our favourite spots from the last time we visited as well as find lots of new fantastic eats!

@levainbakery - Famous for a reason! This time we opted for the lemon cookie and I think I might have a new favourite!

@serrabybirreria - a beautiful restaurant tucked away in @eatalynewyorkcity which had such amazing food! I think it’s probably the best focaccia bread I have ever had.

@grayspapayanyc - the quintessential New York hotdog- served with papaya juice, absolutely hit the spot!

@doughdoughnuts - a previous favourite of ours and we just had to return. This time we got the lemon, blueberry donut and it was great!

@starbucksreserve_newyork - these places always blow my mind! I got my hands on a tasting set which had a whiskey barrel aged coffee which is phenomenal!

@allanticovinaiofirenze - No sandwich I have had since our last trip to New York has compared to this one and it was just as good as I remembered!

@joesshanghai - such a fantastic little restaurant in China Town. I still dream about the dumplings from this place! Everything we had was amazing

@funnyfacebakery - I found this bakery through Instagram recently and we stumbled across it on a walk through Manhattan, the effort that goes into each of these treats is amazing and I would definitely head back for another next time I’m in New York.
